Goals
The MepBay application aims to assist in the analysis of the planform equilibrium model of bay beaches through the implementation of the analytical equation proposed by Hsu & Evans (1989), illustrating beach behavior through computational simulation.
Specific Objectives:
- Develop a user-friendly tool that facilitates the rapid resolution of the Hsu & Evans (1989) parabolic model;
- Ease the determination of whether the beach is in a state of static or dynamic equilibrium;
- Predict the behavior of a beach when subjected to changes in wave climate, sediment balance, or the imposition of new physical barriers such as the construction of jetties and breakwaters.
- Provide an open-access application for students and professionals in the field.
